Sewing @ 1/4" scant block will finish 11"

and the browns to represent the ridges.

1 - 12 1/2 " x 2" strip of fabric
Strips are cut a little larger
and will be trimmed to prevent cutting too short.
STAR:
Take the 3" square of blue and gold with right sides
together and draw a line diagonally(corner to corner) and sew 1/4” on each side of the line. Repeat this with
the other set of gold and blue 3" square. Press open and trim to 2 1/2” squares. Arrange the star as shown.
STRIPS:
At
the bottom of the star start with the 6 1/2" x 2" and sew it across the bottom of the star in a log cabin fashion pressing
each seam and trim any extra that you might have. Sew the 8 1/2” x 2" strip of green to the right side of the
star extending to the bottom of the first strip, trim. Continue through all the strips of fabric.
